Google has invited the SilverStripe open source cms and php framework to be a part of Google Summer of Code 2007. Students are sought to apply to Google to be paid USD4500 to work on projects that will form future standard releases of SilverStripe. Applications are due by March 24.

In a close race, the assembled UP membership voted for the Geekzone Guru ahead of David, Hamish, Philip and Tom.

SilverStripe have recently marked the new major release of their content management system as stable, available as a free download... so you will see a refreshed UP site in the future!
